Artful Lil' Hands - Science Safari

It's another Playgroup day... we are into a new theme...it's going to be a season on Science!!! And we are going to start with nature as part of our learning in Science...

So off to the Toa Payoh Town Park we go...Tim and Little Missy enthusiastically waiting for the bus' arrival... :)
Everyone arrived at about the same time... and without further adieu, each of the little ones were given a small packet with little ziploc bags + colour pencils and a jotter book to record and collect their treasures of nature... *smile*
It was a sunny and hot morning... so we decided to cross the little bridge over to the shadier area...where we could explore further...Over at the other side of the garden, we saw a tree that grew horizontally... the kids met a 姐姐who was feeding the terrapins and fishes...and she generously shared the fish feed with Tim & Caitlin.

While Tim & Caitlin were feeding the fishes & terrapins, the rest of the kids were busy collecting and exploring the plants, trees, flowers that were around the garden...
When Mommy Evelyn started to do a bark rub, all of us quickly followed suit... how fun!!! :)
We moved on further up the garden and the kids had some fun observing a terrapin which was perched on a tree... before we all scared it off the tree *grin*...

Tim saw some toadstool growing on a tree trunk... he was curious about it and I was busy stopping him from touching it...lest he put it into his mouth...
We ventured further towards the end of the garden...and discovered a very nice and quiet place where there were lots of pretty flowers around... the kids had a wonderful time collecting the flowers and leaves at this part of the garden...while Emily decided to sit down and do some scribbling...
The kids crowded around Mommy Evelyn while she described to them what was in her collection of treasures.
After coming back from the Science Safari, I put together all the stuff that Tim & I have collected into his Nature Treasures book... and also printed a few pictures of the "nature" I've taken... hopefully in time to come he'll recall what he has learned and the fun he had today at the garden... *smile*
