Nordic Children's DHA

Remember sometime ago, I shared about this Nordic Fish Oil that my kids are currently consuming?

Well, I'm really happy to learn that I could order this fish oil directly from the US at a 40% cheaper price than it is in Singapore. Isn't that wonderful?

Mommy Karen, informed me of this special order in iHerb that I can make with an extremely low shipping cost of US$3.99 per shipment of 2 bottles of the fish oil... I am so happy!~!~!~

Now to pay-it-forward, I'm sharing this special code MAM357 here so that more people can enjoy a further $5 discount on top of the already discounted price of US$18.88 per bottle (it's now US$17.94 per bottle).

Here's how to place the order -
Sign up as a member on iHerb, then do a quick search on Nordic in the website. You'll see a whole range of Nordic's products and select the one you wish to purchase. Once at the checkout screen, you'll be prompted at the end of the order to key in a referral code... just add 'MAM357" into it and click the update button, you'll automatically be given a $5 additional discount. Then you'll be prompted to select a shipping company, be sure to select the USPS as that's the one that ship at US$3.99. You'll have the goods shipped directly to your door-step... *wink*
*(Note: The additional $5 discount is only offered to first-time customers of iHerb).

Thank you for sharing ...
Could I ask you if you know the difference between the regular fish oil and the childrens' version? They both come in the strawberry flavor you featured. I took a quick look and they look the same to me. My local naturopathic clinic here (where I also get my son's probiotic supplements) carries it for almost the same price, but I'm not sure they have the children's version.
Thanks,
fay

Hello Fay, thanks for stopping by my blog and thanks for raising the question...i've done a quick check... the difference between the regular Nordic fish oil vs the children's fish oil is mainly the dosage. In terms of the calories, total fat, vit, Omega 3, EPA, DHA etc are all of a different level.

The Children's DHA comes in a lower level of dosage while the regular one has at least 50% more in dosage.

Hope that clarifies.

Thank you so much for sharing this info, and for the clarification. That was what I understood when I read the specifications, so I was glad you came up with the same info. I was able to order 2 bottles of the regular version. I figured I could save some $$ that way by giving my younger son half the dose and my older a full dose. Also, since I live in the US, I was able to select UPS shipping that was free. Thanks again for your post, and for saving us some $$. I had been putting off shopping for fish oil since we were done with our supply of scotts emulsion from Singapore quite a while ago, and did not buy more on our recent trip back.
Also, I wanted to let you know that you've been a great encouragement and inspiration to me in your dedication to teach and parent your kids in a Godly way. I think it is especially commendable given that you live in Singapore. Most of my Singaporean friends just leave their children in the care of their maids or parents in law full time. Keep up the good work you're doing ... I pray that you and your husband will continue to be Godly examples for your children and leave a legacy that will last generations.

now that it's more than 3 months liao, my mummy doesn't know what to do with it or whether to buy a new bottle.

your advice?

mamabliss said...

Hi Mico, yes you may post it in the forum :)

Hello Hann... actually the bottle that we have is also slightly more than 3 months... aunty Pauline still feed it to the 2 kids... ;) unless of course I notice some foul smell or discolouration of the fish oil, I am ok with stretching the fish oil a little longer... *wink*... but that's just aunty Pauline's personal opinion hor... not an advice at all...

mamabliss said...

oh by the way Hann... perhaps you should let mommy know to buy a smaller bottle (4 Oz) since you can't consume all of the 8 Oz bottle fish oil...

Is the supplement in tablet or liquid form. I've been sourcing for Omega 3 for my boys. This one looks good. What's the flavour?

Thanks for sharing :)

mamabliss said...

Hi Chris, no problem... good things are worth sharing... :)

yes indeed the shops here are selling them quite expensive probably because they have to pay for the shipping and also the exchange rates difference... but good thing we could order these supplements directly too ;) isn't the internet wonderful? kekeke

Hi Janice, this is in liquid form and it has a strawberry flavour... Nordic is quite popular in Singapore apparently... :)
