Artful Lil' Hands - Cluck Cluck Cluck

After a week's break due to the Children's Day and Hari Raya hols, members of Artful Lil' Hands are back together again today...

We are into our second session in Farmland Fun...and today we learn about Chickens...
We have a nice comfortable group today...with only 7 moms and 8 kiddos... the children had a good time playing together before the session started...

I'm truly grateful to all the mommies who've helped me by bringing a toy of their child's to our session today...as I've experienced a lot of problems playing down Tim's temper tantrums during each PG session... as he's always screaming at his friends for wanting to play with his toys...and I almost always have to tear him away from each fight over sharing his toys with his friends... I decided to come up with the strategy of requesting for each mom to bring just one simple toy so that Tim won't feel that he's always the one giving during PG.

The result? PERFECT!!! In all of the PG sessions, this was one with no tears, no temper tantrums from Tim completely! *happy mama*
Before we started, Mommy Evelyn whipped out her pretty mauve pink guitar... the kids surrounded her and each of them want a piece of it *smile*... oooh even I want to play the guitar...it's such a pretty little thing... (I'm such a sucker for pretty things)...

We started the session, with Mommy Adeline reading the book "The Cow Who Clucked" by Denise Fleming, while Mommy Evelyn played the guitar and sing along with the kids... check out the video to see what we did.
Afterwhich we settled down to do a simple pasting craft. We pasted chicken feathers onto a line drawing of a chicken...something easy for the kids to be involved in. I didn't kill a chicken to get the feathers for this craft... I merely bought a feather duster and happily pluck all the feathers off it... *smile*
It was such a comfortable session we ended way ahead of time...and the mommies had a wonderful time of chatting, sharing and mingling... even the kids have the time to get to know each other better... *smile*...

hey pauline,
really looks like loads of fun for the kids. u mummies really put in alot of effort and I think it is a job well done. It reminds me of library time in the States. By the way, how long does eac session last? I bet u all can spend the whole afternoon playing and chatting together!

Hi Rachel, thanks dear... it's really fun to work with mommies and kids... :) each session lasts approx 1.5hrs-2hrs (including the playing and chatting)... yes it's never enough chatting and mingling with other mommies... :) if the kids needn't nap I think we could chat till the sun goes down *smile*
