Artful Lil' Hands @ Jacob Ballas Children's Garden

Artful Lil' Hands was taken outdoors this week... following-up on the Garden's theme...the kids had a real experience in a garden...where they have loads of exposure to nature, learning and of course plenty of fun...

This week we have in our group Mommy Joyce & Cherrlyn, Mommy Adeline & Caitlin, Mommy Shirley & Jireh, and we have new members joining us... they are Mommy Evelyn & Layla and Mommy Yvonne & Hurley... WOW... 6 mommies and 6 kiddos today... don't you think that spells FUN!!!

Am truly grateful for the wonderful weather today... although it was a little hot but hey, this is definitely better than rain and having to stay indoors...
The early birds started off with some sand play at the Jacob Ballas sand pit...
Mommy Evelyn, helped the kids make some sandcastles... while Tim was busy "destroying" the sandcastles... *faint*
Cherrlyn was all smiles and giggles when Tim was amusing her by scooping and throwing the sand into the air... it was such a cute sight...
Pretty little Layla... love her curls... isn't she a beauty?
When the water fountain was turned on over at the water play site, all the kids were completely drawn by it... Tim was the first to rush to the place... this boy... simply can't resist water play...
After an hour or so of sand and water play... everyone settled down at the Black Swan Lake (that's just a few minutes walk away from the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden)... we chose a shady spot and placed our picnic mats down to have our mini picnic... it was Tim's first picnic experience... something new he learned today *smile*
All the kids were famished...look at how happy they are munching the food stuff away... *wink* We had in our spread, spinach quiche, pancakes, fruits and ribena... all suitable for the little ones... *smile*
In this short picnic event, the kids had the opportunity to get closer to nature by observing a cattail plant, seeing a few different breeds of birds, getting a close encounter with a black swan and watching & catching tadpoles... we've really maximise the garden theme to the fullest in my opinion... ;) though we didn't get to do the art activity we initially planned but I believe the kids had bagged in their knowledge bank with something today...
So what's up next week? Outdoor art again... we'll be headed Vivo City... stay tuned everyone!!!

I've never seen a black swan before actually!! LOL :)

Its an eye-opener to me. I've an impression of white swan only :)

I happened to come across this tv program that taught us how to warm up our pinic sandwiches using the engine from the car. So cool :)
