Random Post - This Week

Since my last post about the busy week I've tread past since the Lunar New Year... well that wasn't the end... hmmm... it's yet another eventful week...

Special Guests -
We've special visitors at our place this week. Leng Leng (fellow mummy blogger) brought her sweet little Sarah for a visit... we have had a good catching up and chat while the kiddos were busy running about the house playing together.

We spent the entire morning chatting about homeschooling and the kids... love the company of Leng Leng...
I've made some more pineapple tarts and re-pack them into a bottle that I've decorated and gave it to Leng Leng as a thank you gift for sending me a package of 'Chinese Curriculum for toddlers' :)

Sleepless Night -
Little Missy was not her usual on Thursday night... after the last feed of the evening, she woke up several times in the night screaming and crying inconsolably... we were extremely worried, as she has never been like this before... At 2.30am in the morning we decided to rush her to the nearest hospital with 24hr outpatient clinic for a quick check... we finally could have some rest at 4am (or so we thought)... at 5.30am... the cycle started again... scream and cries wouldn't stop... she happened to pooped and vomit quite a bit too...this happened throughout the day...

It's really very heart wrenching to hear her scream and cry that way... I finally decided to send her to the PD the very same day and found out that Little Missy was actually down with gastric flu. She was given a dose of suppository to stop the vomitting and we had to give her Lactose-free milk... she was still crying very badly in the evening (and she sounded like an old lady... cos her voice was all coarse from all that screaming & crying).

By 8pm, I was completely zonked... needed to sleep badly (cos I can't even remember if I had slept at all the night before).

And thank God, she looks much better this morning... but her medication is to last for 7 days and the PD said gastric flu could last as long as 14 days *faint*... I can't imagine myself going sleepless for another week or so... :S

The Ps & Qs -We've recently tried to teach Tim his Ps & Qs... and how he should apply them... we feel that this is the most fundamental in being polite... it took loads of reminding... and we really do hope that he'd be using them spontaneously without us prompting him in days to come.

Tim loves the Playhouse Disney channel a lot, so each time he wanted to watch the channel we'd make him ask for permission... and after we had given him the green light we'd make him say thank you... he'is still unable to pronounce the words quite clearly but we do get what he was trying to say... *beaming mama*

Sibling Rivalry -

We are still struggling over Tim's love of snatching things from Joyce's hands... while we know that he loves his sister... he's still at a very self centred stage... we're still working hard on teaching him to learn to take turns to play a toy with his sister... hmmm...

Oh I'm so looking forward to the Homeschooling fair tomorrow... hope to see you there... ;)

oh dear poor joyce. I can still remember the days when Declan got gastric flu when he was barely a year old. He vomitted and pooed so much till he was so weak that he simply just laid on his back without much energy left even to cry... so poor thing....

hope she gets well real soon and try to keep Tim away from joyce as gastric flu is contagious.

Oh dear, everyone's getting sick. My son too had gastric flu, vomit whatever he ate. Hubby too had a persistent cough. Hope your little girl gets well soon.

Sorry to hear that little missy is down with gastric flu. How is she now? My 2 boys always snatch things from one another too. I had a hard time telling them that they just have to share :)

Hope lil Missy get well soon. Lil C's fav word "MINE!!!" I guess they are at a stage where they are very egocentric.

Btw, do post about the Homescholing fair... INTERESTED TO KNOW>

thanks!
