Our Pride & Joy

It's once again another fun-filled and warmth-filled family weekend for us... with Tim, there's never a dull moment... ooooh I'm in such great BLISS!~!~!
Concentration
We've noticed Tim has taken an interest in playing with fridge magnet... so we decided to just let him sit in front of the fridge and play with the little magnets to help him improve his fine motor skills with his fingers... he LOVED it!!! He could sit in front of the fridge just manipulating the magnets for approximately 15-20mins... INCREDIBLE!!! The focus and concentration was intense... ;) so Montessori was right again... (read about it, What's this about concentration?)
Here's another collage of Tim focusing on something that was going on, on the PC monitor... we sometimes wonder what's really running through his little brain... teehehe...
Swimmer
It's been a while since we wanted to bring Tim for a swim... but many times we were met with bad weather condition, then he was sick...finally the opportunity came yesterday... hubby and I both agreed that the weather was just perfect to have a dip in the pool... since Tim loves the water so much (often refuse to get out of his bath tub)...

We took a trip down to Noel & Jenny's place again... oooh it was so much fun to watch Tim dip into the pool for the first time... he GINGERLY observed the surrounding, and the frown on his face threatened to turn into a cry... we just quietly let him explore the place... but think this little guy is just meant to be a swimmer, in no time, he was splashing the water hard with both of his hands... he seemed to have a lot of fun... so PHEW!~ Load off our chest, he'll definitely not develop phobia of the pool... oh we are definitely going to bring Tim for a swim more often... kekeke... I am EXHILARATED!!!

Tim the Cave Man
Tim has just turned 14 months, and signs of a cave man behaviour (See Video on Dr Harvey Karp) is getting more prevalent... he is asserting his independence even though there are a lot of things he has yet to master how to do... but he simply wants to do it on his own... such as buckling up the safety belt on his pram... he'll certainly made his intention known... ie. to go into a fit of temper tantrum if we buckle it up for him...

He'll also get angry/upset when we refuse to give in to his wants... with face all red, and fierce cry to show his displeasure of not getting what he wants... at this juncture, we try to distract him with other things and/or when we anticipate that he'll throw a tantrum, we try to give him something else to distract him before the 'symphony' starts...

We were determine not to give in to his every whims and fancies, otherwise we will be feeding/reinforcing bad behaviour (as described by Dr Sal Severe, in "How to Behave, So that Your Kids Will Too")...

I think it's really about time to whip out the Dr Harvey Karp's methods now... ie. Methods from the "Happiest Toddler on the Block"... read the summary here...

Motherhood Joys
Ultimately, I'm still grateful for Tim...a wonderful gift from God who have love and trust us enough to place Tim into our hands for our caregiving...

Everyday, I just marvel at the little pleasant surprises that Tim throw us... and I am just so looking forward to more of such little delights that this boy will bring us... ooooh I'm so in LURRRVVVVEE with Timothy~~~ such joy, such fun... *sigh of contentment*

Wah, Tim not scared of the float and can still swim in it. Grace would cry and refused to sit in it.

He's such an adorable boy!
