Tim's Still Sick...

It's been more than 2 weeks, Tim, is still coughing... and what got me even more worried, was after reading an article in the latest issue of Simply Her magazine, about how a 4-yr-old boy died of the Pneumoccocal Disease...

In brief, the boy contracted a mild cough initially, and further with unreceding high temperature... fought for his life for 21-days and finally his lungs collapsed. Even though he was down with the disease, his parents described that he was still active and perform like normal before he was sent to the hospital...

This really got me thinking, reflecting and of course worried sick. First of all, Tim, hasn't had his Pneumoccocal vaccination (children of age 0-24mths are especially susceptible to this disease), secondly, he's been coughing so badly every night that he'd awaken from his sleep and subsequently have difficulties breathing as his nose will get all choked up of mucus. Thirdly, yesterday, Tim's nanny told us that he's been having bad runny nose that affected his breathing and he refused to take his afternoon nap.

Alright, ENOUGH!!! I insisted on sending him to the hospital, but hubby thought I over-reacted... but I persisted with my case, finally, we've made an appointment with the PD and we're going to have Timothy thoroughly checked...

I feel, children of this age, are young and vulnerable to diseases...they are unlike the adults who might already have the immunity to some common colds/flu... so better don't take chances... life is unpredictable these days... *worried sick mama*

(For the Christian friends who are reading this entry, I'd like to solicit for your prayers... please help to pray for Tim's speedy recovery... thanks so much in advance)

I know you are worried but take it easy. Only then you will be clam enough to think mah.

My 2 kids have this problem very often when they are young.

I think your PD might put Tim on a nebulizer and nose drops. Or sea salt spray to clear his nose. Unless it's really serious then they will have to suck the mucus out so Tim will feel more comfortable (but the process is really bad, you wont want him to got thru that if there's a choice, really!)

My suggestion to ease Tim of the breathing problem when he is sleeping is to elevate one side of his mattress (where his head lies) with cushion underneath the mattress. And rub some ru yi oil on your palms first then to his chest and back (not direct). It helps too. Remember no air-con. It will make it worst.

Hope Tim will be well soon! Take care!

hopes he get well soon. It's usu the mum who will be more careful while the dads always take things lightly.

I guess it's better to get Tim checked out by the PD.

Pauline, don't get too stress up, k. I understand totally how you feel but you must take care too.

I have just prayed for Tim asking our Heavenly Father to heal him to recover fully and quickly. The angel will look after him. Pray and leave everything in God's hand, He will take care of him for you. Just do your best in caring for him, the rest, can only depend on God.

God bless you and your loved ones.
